A badger in the chicken coop.

On August 10, 2000, a young badger attempted to infiltrate the chicken coop at Acme Acres. I held him off as best as I could, and eventually called in a neighbor with heavy armament (an elderly .22 rifle) who was able to "destroy" the critter with a single shot.

What was particularly odd is that badgers are rarely seen in this part of the country. Apparently the sand hills in the area make good habitat, and some badgers have moved into the area. Neighbors say they have seen other, larger badgers, but this is the only one that has made a nuisance of himself.
